In Nice the shops are totally fed up of being robbed, trying to run a business with the threat all the time of a being robbed must make you quite stressed. A young robber broke in to a jeweller's and made off on a motorcycle with the swag. The quick thinking shopkeeper got out his gun and shot the boy, killing him. There was no doubt the boy was a robber, he still had the bag with him but the shopkeeper has been held in prison for a few days now. He has the support of all the other shopkeepers in Nice and probably lots of the residents of the town.
The young boys father is outraged saying " he shot my son like a pigeon" The robber was a well known criminal of the area.
One feels like saying to the Dad, "you must have known of your son's activities, why did you not stop him? By letting him be a criminal YOU have brought him to this."
I can see that shooting a robber in the back can only be wrong but one can see where the shopkeeper was coming from.
It will be interesting to see where the story goes.
