How often do you have a dinner party and after discussing food and recipes[ where I get a glazed look] the conversation turns to the wild life of the area.
Last week at a dinner party [ and we all seem to go to plenty of these] one lady said she had found a baby western whip snake in a pile of leaves. The markings are quite different for a juvenile but it was easily found by googling .Another chap at the round the table [ we sound like Knights]had seen a large green lizard, and swept it gently into a dustpan. Nothing gentle about the lizard he grabbed the dustpan in his teeth and hung on for grim death, imagine if it was your finger. The best we have seen in the last couple of days was a mouse nest in the hedge which Bonny found. The brown mother mouse escaped but the babies were shared between Bonny and Twister, before Malc could stop them, as a tasty snack for supper.
