Mortellement blessé, another to add to my list in French for "being dead"
A cyclist was "mortellement blessé" by being hit by a driver "sans permis" without a driving licence, near Carcassone. When reading the story at first I thought the driver was in a " sans pemi", that is a little car which people who have not got a driving licence are allowed to drive. Amusingly the " sans permis" around these parts are all covered in bumps, dents and scratches, oops, maybe having a licence is a good thing.
