In Paris that evocative building one often saw in the Maigret films no. 37 Le Quai d' Orsay is open this weekend. It is a huge building but boasts only one staircase, so everyone President, Prime minister, beggar-man, thief all have to use that staircase. The building is still used as an official building but in a couple of years the offices will move to a new building more suitable.

I have it in my head that Maigret worked from Le Quai d'Orfèvre, not the Le Quai d'Orsay... Am I wrong?
I thought Le Quai d'Orsay housed the French foreign ministry and the diplomatic service.
