Signs of Spring, daffodils coming out, tulips poking up through the ground, first cuckoo, first warm days (well, ok, don’t quote me on that one) and ................. The Easter Barn Book Sale ! To be held as usual at Lesley’s barn in Beliben a tiny hamlet next door to Sauzet in the Lot, on Saturday 4th April. 10am to 2pm.
There will be hundreds of books for one euro each, a good selection of dvd’s and, of course our ‘often imitated never duplicated’ selection of yummy home made cakes, quiches and hot cross buns to be eaten ‘sur place’ with a coffee or taken home for tea later. In fact we do know certain people who come early to make sure they get their favourite cakes before even looking at the books !
If you have books and or dvd’s to donate, just get in touch with me, preferably by email, and I will do my best to arrange collection if you are not too far away. Books should be saleable and in good condition. Sorry, no videos as we always have to dump them and it is horrid to have to do it.
With the ever increasing number of dogs in need of happy homes after being dumped for various reasons, divorce, or “he got bigger” (wow, a puppy that turned into a dog, how unusual) or “he doesn’t behave” (oh, a dog who doesn’t instinctively know what is right or wrong, again, how unusual), the strain on refuges is enormous. Don’t even get me started on breeders. When did people forget that a dog is for life ?
The money raised at our Book Sales is split fifty/fifty between dog rescue and Cancer Research and believe me, every euro makes a difference. So please make a trip to see us on the 4th April and help us to make a difference.
