Eleven years old with out a home to go to

He gets on well with people, children and other dogs, it is not known till Monday how he reacts with cats. A foster home needed until his owner can be found. He is an alsation type dog in size and very calm. He is puced and just ready for someone to look after, or even adopt if his owners do not claim him. He is very thin and lacks 10 kilos, needs some home comforts. If the gendarmes have not found his owners in 12 days time he will be up for adoption. I asked if he was clean in the house - yes, does he walk on the lead - yes. Maeva says should we say he is called Alto, what a daft name. Any ideas readers for a name for,  to my eyes a beautiful old boy. He is definitely French so needs a French name.
He is with the vet at Laguepie at the moment after a little medical intervention, the vet says he likes his small children. Could he be " Prince" like the Petit Prince   but in his case "Grand Prince?"
