I read the news and quite often feel depressed by it. Talking to a friend yesterday we thought that we were very lucky living our lives in a bubble of happiness and security in Tarn and Garonne, away from terrorists and potential trouble. I suppose that is unconciously why we have picked this calm, beautiful area.
We do remember friends coming to stay the first January we were here. They had come they thought to the South of France and we drove them to the most beautiful bastide villages and riverside towns and ancient castles and they spent the whole time saying " but there is nothing here" They wanted shops and casinos and places to dress up and spend money... this is not that place.
It is infinitely better than that and for us discerning few " we get it " ... some just never will.
