Numbers depleted for the film

A cosy evening with four Dutch, three English, one Polish and two French gathered in our salon to watch a classic French film.
Emile from the village gave us a sad insight in to the follow up of the film "La Gloire de mon Père" The film was based on Marcel Pagnol's life and set before the first world war. Marcel had a family holiday in the mountains behind Marseille and met another boy Lili and together they had country adventures.
Emile who is in his nineties and loved the books recounted afterwards how Lili was killed in the first world war and the villages and life in the country changed for the worse after the war.
We had a funny evening with more Dutch people than French and we all spent the evening talking French with varying degrees of success.
To all those suffering in Varen with colds and flu keep warm and get better soon.
