Dear Val,
Of course Bonnie is grieving, dogs have feelings too and losing Twister must make her very sad. I think adopting a senior is a fantastic idea, you'd make Bonny happy and also save an older dog. But I had to laugh when you said "another huge vet bill". I don't know the vet you use, but coming from America the vet bills here are about 1/8th of the price we'd pay back in the states. Our vet is in Negrepelisse and they are fantastic. They have all the latest technology, they are friendly, knowledgeable and prices are very reasonable. I have heard stories about a vet (I won't mention name and location as it will give it away) who's prices have increased because most of the clients are British, American, Canadian, etc... (they can afford it!). We saw that vet for a while, but moved to the vet in Negrepelisse and have been very happy with that decision.

Val says Malc is enjoying having just one dog as it is so easy, you know me I would like to adopt another old dog. Bonny does play with Kenza the dog who lives outside over the road and Kenza has started calling for her. We hope that will help.
I should perhaps have mentioned that we bought vermifuge and puce for 4 cats in with the bill so that mounted it up.
We have used all the local vets and the one at Negrepellisse we were directed to for an operation on one of the cats' legs. We have been happy with all but now use Laguepie as it is just 5 minutes away. In an emergency that could be important.
