Dear Val and Malcolm,
Seem to be having a run on pictures at the moment, must be the weather.
Well as it was such a nice day I went for a walk along the PR4, it is well signposted with yellow stripesand takes you from Bruniquel along the Aveyron toward Cabéou. At Cabéou the path turns right and follows a tiny stream through a long, moss covered wood, it must be cool in the summer. The path crosses the stream several times and eventually arrives at a lavoir, from here the path climbs up onto the plateau high above the river Aveyron. Finally just as the path descends back to the start, there is a clearing where I took this picture of the Châteaux de Bruniquel. I use the French plural for Châteaux as there are two not one. The firstChâteau was constructed around the 12th century and is the "château vieux", the other, "château jeune" was constructed around the 15th Century. They are slowly under going restoration and are open between March and November.
