Hi, Val.

Thanks for bigging up Gareth’s work as a photographer. It’s great for him, having given up his day-job, to return to his passion for photography. The “TAG” area is so full of beautiful places, and he has taken marvellous photos of the “must-sees” around us.

I suggested that he put together a photo-book for each of our gîtes so that our guests can see the places and different activities in the area. No matter how many leaflets you collect, this is one of the first things that they ask about together with how long it will take to get there. Gareth produced one centred on where we live, with photos of places like Najac, Cordes, Cahors, Saint Antonin etc. and indications of the time it will take to drive to them.

Our guests have loved them, as they’re so personal, and we offer them for sale to them as a unique (well, almost) souvenir of their stay. They also make a good gift (guess what my mother-in-law is receiving for her birthday!).

Now we’ve done our book and have received such positive feedback, Gareth is ready to do the same for other gîte owners, and people with houses in the area, producing a book for them based upon their own property and tailored to their requirements, so that if they want to show particular activities such as canoeing or horse riding, or dare I say donkeys, local venues can be included. As well as his bank of excellent pictures of the local sights, he will take photos of the area surrounding the owner’s property and configure the travelling time from the individual property to the place that’s the subject of the photo, so it is a truly “bespoke” book.

Some gîte owners may wish to sell the books to their guests, some may include copies within the rental price, and some may give them away to guests that they like.

Val says making the gite special with added ideas gives one a bit of an edge in this crowded market. I saw the books  Gareth and Sarah have done for their gite and liked them so much I invited Gareth round to photograph, yes  you guessed it, the donkeys. They are on the front cover and I have placed my initial order for six books. 
They will be used a gifts to Mas del Sol lovers... so I may need more
