More moon for your money

TV news this morning showed pictures of the moon taken last night as the moon was again at its closest to the earth for some decades. Did any readers try to take advantage of the interesting early evening sky to capture an image?
Here is one (of about 50 efforts!) taken by Malc at f5.6, 1/60 sec ISO 6400
The problem is that the moon is very bright and to get the other foreground objects to appear a long exposure is needed, so the moon is not the colour it appears in the sky. A short exposure will give a better image of the moon, but everything else is dark. Can some expert photographer give some guidance here, please.
