Books and art around the towns

Whilst chatting with Bretjge yesterday she came up with lots of ideas to make St. Antonin an even more friendly place to us all. As she had so many books she had fancied putting out a bookcase for passers by to help themselves, then thought it would be so nice if that happened through out the town. So on window ledges and seats, or in the halle books in all languages were left around for visitors. It could be" St. Antonin book town"before you know it.

This followed on to the idea of art throughout windows in the town, with a little map to follow. The art could be changed following a theme each time. So many artistes in the area, so many lovely buildings and streets. For example if the art was changed every three months  promoting different worthwhile associations like Alzheimers 82 or Via Sahel etc, etc. it could make it really interesting. Bretgje even thought it would be nice to do through the winter to get us residents here full time to pop into St. Antonin more often and look around the streets.
I even think it could work in smaller villages like Varen. I think a lot of the residents would be interested and stimulated by "art in the streets"
I think this happens at Parisot at the time of the art festival, the international art festival.

Malc and I stopped overnight once in the Loire on our way to England and the little village had photographs around the town and a numbered map to follow. This was years ago and we both still remember it as a happy interlude in the voyage.
Any other ideas readers.
