If you have renters who have not paid, you are stuck with them for the winter.

Today is the official day where it is deemed too cold to throw renters out onto the streets, and they are now allowed by law to stay in the accommodation till a certain date in the Spring. In large cities yesterday landlords were turfing clothes and belongings into the streets and adding new locks to doors to keep non paying renters out. The gas and electricity companies are also not allowed to switch off services.
We actually know French farmers who owned and rented a property behind our first house " Le Presbytere" The renter who turned out to be a really bad lot stayed all winter, wrecking the house and not paying any rent. The farmers decided never to rent again after this experience and ended up selling the property.
