They are still out there today chassing something or other and the hounds barking drive all the locked -in their-gardens pampered pooches in the area mad. The sound of the bells hanging round the dogs' necks so their masters do not shoot them by accident rings across the valley. Maybe the hunters should also have bells around their necks as I know in the next few weeks there will be reports of someone shot dead... as long as it is not me or Malc!
Someone recently commented on the fact the men do not break their guns as they would in the UK when walking about hunting. Health and safety my dears what is that all about, certainly after lunch.
There will be many who live in charming little french hideaways who come in June from the UK and leave in September who know nothing of the delights of this very rural pursuit, or so called " sport"
I would call it a rural pusuit, surely sport can never be killing things.
