Be careful when closing your shutters

In the Depeche is a sad story where a lady only in her late fifties was closing the shutters on the second level. It is not clear if she had a black out or if she overbalanced, but she fell out, killing herself in the fall.
When we lived at the Presbytere we had windows which you could step out onto the ledge [ if you were foolish enough to do so] overhanging a concrete patio. We returned one day to find our young cleaner of that time polishing the windows from that ledge .I assured her I would rather have dirty windows than a dead cleaner.
That reminds me that when we left the UK we had a window cleaner and a cleaner [ listen readers, I worked every hour on our business, cleaning the house was not a top priority] Here the cleaners automatically expect to clean the windows for you and most of the windows are designed so that they can be cleaned without resorting to ladder climbing. Many cleaners are trained for cleaning for the elderly and know just what is needed and our super Laetitia is the best ever, total treasure.
