Students stressed about the Bac probably should not worry as in 2013 92% of those sitting the exam actually passed. This has lead inevitably to the usual discussion as to whether the exam is too easy or indeed a waste of money. At around 2000 euros a student it would clearly be cheaper to simply give all students a pass certificate, as most would merit it anyway. On the other hand educationalists claim it shows that standards are improving and the Bac is not a "concours" -competitive exam. So, end of course written exams or controlled in year assessment? No doubt what Michael Gove would say.
