Gite cleaner needed in Ginals

Would it be possible for us to advertise for a Cleaner for our holiday rental property in the magazine? 

Our house in Ginals is managed by Le Cloup Assistance but the Cleaner they employed last year has just said that she is moving back to the UK and what with the house booked for the summer season, we are now in a bit of a panic!

Urgent need for firewood

Hi Val, the wood that I've ordered for the rest of the season has arrived and it is not dry enough to use. I'm looking to buy around 2.5-5m3 to get us through to spring. I'm hoping there will be some TAG readers with ideas for me. I'm looking for 30-40 length and delivery to Najac or pick up in the surrounding area, Villefranche, St. Antonin, or even Cordes.

Gym equipment

We are doing two house swaps this winter: one with a couple from Geelong in Victoria and the other with friends who live in  Fremantle. The couple from Fremantle will be in our house from the end of Jan until the end of May. The man( another Ian) has a muscular condition which affects his legs and somewhat impedes his ability to walk easily. He asked me if there is a gym anywhere near. Which there is not.

I wondered if you knew anyone who would be able to let me borrow some equipment .

Van, car or engine needed

Watch out for fireworks

Dear Val,
Having lots of garden leaves and twigs needing burning we have decided to hold a sort of Bonfire celebration on 5th November. Our only challenge is where to find some fireworks to go with it. Does anyone know where you can buy sparklers and so on? I don't want to buy them online .I prefer to have a look at what I am getting.

Can any one recommend a small roofer?

The storm last night reminded us that we need to have our chimneys repointed or the flashing replaced. Couvreurs and builders have said "oh yes, no problem", but simply failed to appear to do it. The job is too small. Any ideas?

It looks as if a trip to Villefranche is called for, Catherine. Any of the big builders merchants on the Montauban road will have the zinc gutters, but it is a professional job to fit them.
As for computer repairs we used 3A who are a business supplier and maintenance company just by the roundabout leading on to the same road (there is a big electrical appliance seller next door).

Do you know of perhaps a young ( or even not so young ) post graduate student of art  who would be capable of making a catalogue raisonne of 100  or so pictures. This is an opportunity to spend time in a beautiful location in South West France, perhaps 3 or 4 months in a very comfortable gite which is part of the splendid Domaine de Sautou at Castanet. You will be offered full board and a warm welcome from the Nosals and all their family. A reasonable knowledge of French would be important. The period could be in the summer holidays which is the best time to be here in S.W. France. The work would be unpaid, but it is an opportunity to improve your French  and stay in  a fabulous setting with all meals prepared for you to eat with  the family or in the privacy of your gite  from time to time if you wished.
Jean  Marie Nosal  would like to have an earlier catalogue, from many years ago updated . The paintings are by his Father and they are part of  the residue left of which  2,000 paintings have already been donated to a musuem / art gallery.

Good jeweller wanted for repairs

Does anyone know of a good Jeweller who can repair old gold chains, brooches, rings etc.  I have several gold items waiting repair, but I don't know where to take them.  Also I would be interested in finding a proper watch repairer as I am in a similar situation with a number of old fashioned  "wind-up" watches I just hate to throw away!
