Nothing to do with opera to all of you who sang the headline - but the newspaper is missing today due to a strike. The on-line version is available free whereas normally it is a truncated version for non-abonnes such as us. The site is normally very slow and full of stories with the legend "ni internet ni donnees" presumably stories only available to internauts with subscriptions.

No such thing as good news

A reader and  I have been passing comments about how bleak the news is around the world at the moment and I was saying that is why I like to keep TAG light hearted. The reader then sent this link which I sat agreeing with as I read.
I passed to Malc who things the arguments are rubbish and the news is the news bad though it is at the moment and in his opinion the news should start with sport!

Jihadists arrested in Albi

Two young men recently returned from Syria, together with a local woman, were arrested yesterday in the Tarn city of Albi. Police suspect the three of "planning acts of violence" and seeking other jihadist recruits. The French government revealed new laws in July to restrict travel of suspected terrorist activists.
