A lovely concert followed by a barbecue

A choir singing baroque music in the beautiful  medieval church of Varen. Very enjoyable, but why are church pews so uncomfortable, Is it good for the soul! rather than the back?

We were invited to a barbecue in the village afterwards and thought we would be home early as the concert in the church started at 3.30pm. In the event we did not get back in till after 10 and the poor dogs have had a second day locked in the courtyard.

We went to close up the hens and check the donkeys to find the fence  around the donkey field propped up with tubs from the pool. A moments panic whilst we wondered if the donkeys had escaped. Rushed to see the renters who had such a calm tale to tell.

They were reading books on sunbeds around the pool when they looked up to see Coco standing   next to them, smiling. They said   "I do not think you should be out here" and they walked up along the fence to see where Coco had got out from. The fence had been knocked down and Coco followed them back up and went  quietly back into the field, so they propped up the fence!!!
Now they said this all very calmly, never realising what a shenanigans they could have had.
I had noticed the battery was dead on the fence and the donkeys quickly notice the same thing, so I am hoping the others do not spot it overnight.
We must put a new battery there tomorrow.
