Le Bouton Rouge is organising a Marché des Createurs on Sunday 13th April at the Salle des Fetes in Parisot between 10am and 5pm in association with the Parisot association, Rencontre et Partage. It promises to be an exciting event with a wide range of exhibitors who will be selling their original pieces. We will be showing sculpture, furniture, clothes and accessories for both adults and children, handmade cards, jewellery, cushions, objets d'art, picture frames, mosaics and upholstery. There will also be a tombola where you will have the chance to win an original piece from our recent 12x12 project.
The Bouton Rouge cafe will be open all day selling tea, coffee and soft drinks in addition to home-made cakes and biscuits. We really hope that you will be along to come along and enjoy the day with us. We look forward to meeting you there.

We would like to raise even more money to support these amazing women and so we are holding one last exhibition of a selection of the 12x12 pieces hosted by the Mediatheque de Parisot from the 23rd November until the 29th November. We will be selling the remaining cards and original pieces and we would like to invite everyone to come along and see the work. The exhibition will be open during the Mediatheque hours which are as follows:

Saturday:    10h00 - 12h00
Monday:       14h00 - 17h00
Tuesday;      9h00 - 12h and 13h30 - 16h30
Wednesday: 14h00 - 17h00
Thursday;    9h00 - 12h00 and 13h00 - 16h30

Good morning Val, 

Just thought I'd mention that Kath and Ankie had such a succesful and joyful exhibition earlier this year in Caylus that the opportunity to see the remaining works in Parisot should not be missed. There are some little gems still available which might just make some lovely Christmas presents. I am certainly looking forward to getting my hands on my two purchases   from the summer (still to be seen in the exhibition).  However they are not going to be presents unless to myself! Last but not least the money already raised for the two Indian projects was amazing.

A second exhibition at Parisot for Le Bouton Rouge

It is just over a month since our 12 x 12 exhibition finished in Caylus. During the exhibition period, we had a huge number of visitors coming in to see the show and they were, without exception, highly complimentary about what they saw. We sold around 700 cards, bookmarks and gift tags created from images of the 12 x 12 squares. We also sold a lot of original pieces too. Those which have been sold are marked with a red dot on our website. Go to the Gallery at http://www.leboutonrouge.co.uk.

We are still selling both cards and originals. There will be a second exhibition at the Parisot Médiathèque between 23 and 29 November 2013. As in Caylus, both cards and original pieces will be an sale. The opening hours are as follows: Monday: 2pm-5pm; Tuesday: 9am-12pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm; Wednesday: 2pm-5pm; Thursday: 9am-12pm and 1pm-4.30pm; Friday: 9.30am-12pm; Saturday: 10am-12pm
The money raised will be again donated to support a further project to help women in India. We have already sent donations totalling €1,500 to two projects offering tailoring and embroidery training to women in a remote Indian villages. 12x12 project Le Bouton Rouge

Hi Val,
Although I cannot be at the vernissage for this show, I would really like to endorse and promote this wonderful initiative by Kath Humphries and Ankie Vos, not least as two of my textile pieces are also included. And not only mine. I did a bit of canvasing when I last was in France and got several of my artist friends both in France and UK involved who all contributed one or two pieces. Of course  Kath and Ankie are inspiring textile artists themselves, so it promises to be a good show. I hope to see the exhibition myself when I arrive back on 15 August. 

One last thing, I just have shown new paintings in UK and hope to bring them to France in the future (well, what's left of them, anyway) They are all inspired by my bit of paradise in the Najac/StAndre de Najac area. Dear Val,

I wondered if you might be interested in our current project for inclusion in taglines. We would be delighted if you felt able to include something about our association and current project. We are an association based in Caylus. Here is a little information about us:

Le Bouton Rouge is an association created in France by Kathryn Humphries and Ankie de Jager. The aim of our association is to promote mutual understanding and appreciation of the different cultures who live together here through creative activities and events.

12 x 12 Project

Le Bouton Rouge sent people in a variety of countries an invitation to participate in the creation of a small work using a square of material which measured just 12cm by 12cm. The choice of technique, approach and image was left entirely open to enable each person to respond in their own way. The only criteria was that the finished piece must measure approximately 12cm by 12cm.

We have now received more than 250 completed squares which will be exhibited from the 11th of August to the 25th August at the Studio de L'Olm in Caylus. We will also be holding further exhibitions in other galleries later in the year.

The pieces are all completely original. Sometimes amusing, sometimes touching, often very artistic and thoughtful. Each square shows something very personal about the person who made it as do the little stories which accompany them. 

From the date of the Private View, images of a selection of pieces will be available for sale in the form of postcards. All the proceeds from the sale of these cards will be donated to a project to support women in India in becoming more self-sufficient by creating their own small business.

Kath and Ankie will be at the gallery throughout the exhibition in Caylus and would be delighted to welcome you to the exhibition. You will see work from people here in France, in Scotland , in England, Israel, Holland, Australia and the USA.

The Private View (by invitation) will take place on Saturday 10th August at the Gallery Studio de L'Olm in Caylus (near the church)

The exhibition opens on Sunday the 11th August until the 25th August. Mondays to Fridays from 10am onwards and Sundays from 2pm onwards.For more information about us please visit:
