Pills and Purcell

Amazing how talented some people in our midst are. Our assistant in the pharmacy of Varen, Laure Gros, is also an adjoint to the maire and councillor. But as many of us heard on Saturday an accomplished choral singer, shining in one of Purcell's amorous dialogues, as well as in the ensemble pieces.

Under the direction of Diane Latour Charriere the pupils of her ancient music classes gave a lovely concert of baroque pieces. Accompanied by professional musicians and with a couple of singers to lead we were all impressed with their performance - what about Gilles Gros's counter tenor performance of Piango Gemo by Vivaldi!
