Thank you and goodbye

This evening (Sunday) is the last of the Ecole de Piano's Vesperales before they move to Montauban. The concert this evening is Renaissance Airs and perhaps both Jean-Paul and Anne-Claire will be playing. There will be a "pot d'au revoir" afterwards.
These little concerts each week are a delight and it is a shame that M Carrere and his family have found it difficult to make the project work, but like many small businesses it takes more than good marketing - perhaps a little more market research is needed.
Malc for one will be sorry to see them go; J-P was a patient tutor and it is no fault of his that Carnegie Hall (even the Dumbarton one) will never hear his version of Danny Boy...

If you are not going to the choral concert at Puycelsi (and you will probably miss a treat), remember that the Ecole de Piano at Arnac has its weekly Vesperales concert at 6pm (18h). This week's programme is Bach, presumably Johan Sebastian and Malc wishes that could be downloaded for later!

Sunday concerts in Arnac

The Ecole de Piano in Arnac, Varen, reminds us that the weekly "vesperales" are continuing in March with some appealing offerings.
Sunday March 9th: Schumann, selected works played by Anne Claire Carrere
Sunday March 16th: Vivaldi  concerti played by Jean Paul Carrere, followed if you wish by a "repas partage" and a "surprise". You may go just for the concert, but presumably book for the rest of the evening.
Sunday March 23rd:Mozart sonatas played by Anne Claire.
Sunday March 30th: "challenge the pianists to play your scores by sight"
Sunday April 6th: Schubert favourites played by Anne Claire.
All the concerts start at 18h (6pm) and are "participation libre" - pay what you think it was worth.

Ecole de Piano at Arnac

Comme d’habitude tous les dimanches à 18h concert de piano entrée libre, programme libre et participation libre.

Quelques statistiques du mois de janvier :

- 38 personnes dont 35 adultes et 4 enfants pour les 4 premières Vespérales

- moyenne de 9 personnes et demi par concert !

- 112.20€ de dons soit 2.95€ par personne...

Val says  the February programme will be uploaded soon. Jean- Paul is really trying to "energise the area with music" and the Sunday evenings are worth a visit, a really charming musical interlude.
