I think I am right in saying that by law any dog bite which breaks the skin should be reported. I don’t think many people do this as in most cases the dog is known to its victim, but I would certainly make sure that the dog has been vaccinated against rabies. Just asking the owner this question may act as a wake- up call.
First Aid tip -scrub the wound vigorously with soap under running water, then treat like any other clean fresh wound.
