The longest day of the year today with sunrise 6.10am and sunset 21.41 here in SW France. And the French meteo classes tomorrow - 21st June - as the beginning of summer. Our Scandie friends consider it Midsummers Day and mark it with parties. Here we have rail strikes, intermittents on strike and a threatened airport strike - more like midsummer madness. But it's a beautiful morning and les bleues will win this evening so let's not be cynical and enjoy the longest day.
