New owners Mark and Brice will be re-opening the popular Verfeil café/bar tomorrow from 11am - 10pm, non-stop.
Brice has had eye surgery and hopes his "pirate" appearance wont scare people off! But until he makes a full recovery the restaurant will offer only snacks rather than a menu.
For the moment the telephone line has been cut off, so pending normal service it will be cash/cheques only. They can be contacted on : +44 7957 302568

Friday 9th December at La Seye et Vous
The last of the "Friday Night is Music Night"s at La Seye et Vous, with music provided by Les Voisins - quite literally the neighbours from opposite the bar. For some years now patrons have been regaled by the sounds of violin, guitars and accordion, with vocals to go with the music floating from the windows. And they are not bad! So on Friday evening, from 20h (8pm) they are crossing the road to entertain with gypsy tunes and songs from Romania, Hungary and Russia. They will be passing the hat round, so take a few sous. Food is truffade-saucisse or veggie option, plus Charley's famous desserts.

This could be the end of an era
You may have noticed the postscript to the notice for the music night at La Seye et Vous on Friday, which says that Charley and co have "almost" sold the enterprise. We were aware of these developments but waited for Charley to make the public announcement.
As many readers know La Seye et Vous in Verfeil is a regular venue for our Thursday lunch and we have become familiar with many of the village faces there. Also the Friday music nights are unmissable for many locals and have contributed hugely to the life of the village.
The ambiance that Charley and his co-workers have created in the restaurant/bar has been its greatest asset: always warm and friendly, always cheerful service, even when Charley's back was playing up.
We can only hope the new proprietors will continue in the same vein.
Charley says he will have a last soiree on 16th December. We will be there and so will many of the regulars.

Blues in Verfeil
This evening (Friday 7th October) the duo/trio Coyote will be serving up a mixture of acoustic and electric blues from 19h30 (7.30pm).
With a set from guest musicians, an exposition of the paintings of Vanessa Furaja and a choice of fish or vegetarian lasagne plus La Seye Vous' famous desserts the first Friday event of the new season promises to be well worth your attention.

Thursday evening could be busy
Folk n' Jazz will be holding its annual charity concert in the grounds of La Vigerie, Varen on Thursday 28th July, augmented by the Fifi Ladies' choir. The theme this year is The Movies. 8pm
Acte82 will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Des Croches et la Lune at La Seye et Vous, Verfeil from 7.30pm. Aficionados of the famous music festival are invited to come and exchange memories of the acts and look forward to this year's concerts to be held on 19th and 20th August.
TAG editorial staff will not be able to attend either of these tempting events but hope readers will go "nombreux".

La Seye et Vous and a concert
Vendredi 24 octobre, concert à La Seye et vous avec le quartet OKIDOKI.
Sounds like an interesting evening with piano and clarinet to the fore. NB no reservations taken.
OKIDOKI est un nouveau projet initié en 2013 par le saxophoniste clarinettiste Laurent Rochelle.
Après 15 années d'aventures avec les groupes Monkomarok et
Lilliput orkestra pour lesquels il a écrit de nombreuses compositions,
Laurent Rochelle a souhaité revenir à une formule plus harmonique
avec l'intégration du piano au sein de ce quartet où prédomine la couleur boisée de la clarinette basse.
Fidèle à ses conceptions mélodiques il propose ici d'explorer des compositions modales souvent basées sur des motifs répétitifs, des ostinatos progressifs, des mélodies obsessionnelles.
Une recherche avant tout de la profondeur sans démonstration inutile.

La-Seye-et-Vous, Les 1ers spectacles de la rentrée
Bonjour à tous,
Le vendredi 20 septembre l'association ACT'2 organise un concert sous la halle avec les groupes LES CHEMINOTS DE LA LUNE (cabaret concert) et JJB (duo blues).
Ce soir là, à la Seye et vous, nous vous proposerons un menu simplifié de 3 plats au choix :
Porc au caramel
Lasagnes végétariennes
Assiette mixte charcuterie-fromage
A noter que le samedi 28 septembre nous recevrons la compagnie du TOC qui nous jouera son nouveau spectacle sous la halle: IL PARAIT QUE TOUT VA CHANGER
