We are warned that the birch tree pollen will peak this weekend, following on from the cypress, ash and plane trees. Tag's sub editor can attest that pollen allergies are having effect already on eyes and nose. Experts recommend that you avoid walking in the woods, close windows and wash your eyes and nose after being outside.
Of course tree pollen is just the start - how lovely spring can be (not).

The tree pollen is flying
A friend said earlier in the week " Val, it is too early for pollen"
My response "try shaking that fir tree there," the cats as they pass and rub against it send clouds of pollen in to the air. Malc has started rubbing his eyes and sneezing so there are no doubts pollen is flying.
TV French news this morning, had the same story and shook the same variety of tree to show the pollen.
