Sadly however much we have tried, the gite looking great, the grounds tidy, fabulous weather, sunsets we ordered, for our two week renters their holiday will be remembered as the one where they got a dog bite.
The holiday makers, they are walkers and what a place to discover to walk in. Sadly they say the thing that often spoils walks is dogs attacking. Yesterday their fears were justified when a distant neighbours dog, ran up and bit the man's leg.
The dog owner was very apologetic but the damage was done.
If you have a dog that has bitten before, no matter how much you love it, if out on it's own or off the lead it MUST be muzzled.
This is the third incident we have heard of three different dogs which have bitten people, you probably know in your area incidents like this.
Be brave enough to say to the dog owner " your dog needs to be muzzled otherwise I will report you and the dog"
I have decided that is going to be my stance in the future. I will not listen to " but it will be uncomfortable for my dog wearing a muzzle".
It is more than uncomfortable for the poor person bitten and imagine it happening to a child.
A good result came from this bad episode as the owner of the dog down the road has assured us it will be muzzled in future.
