Being a sad person of no pedigree and not having a TV I spent a pleasant hour in the bar in Varen (my wife was accompanied) hearing a first hand account of life in Normandy during the assault on Omaha beach. Interesting chappie and he paid my bar bill because I was polite enough to listen to the ramblings of an old man. Why should I buy a TV and "join the real world"?
