The weather continues being warm and sunny, we are still lunching daily on the balcony from the kitchen.
I am trying to leave geraniums out as long as possible, they are in to their fourth year. I cut back all the leaves and find a spot in the Pigeonnier or dependance which is frost free, then water them sparingly. In the spring they take a couple of weeks to regain their former glory. I do feed them in the spring as well.
Today we have German friends Walter and Renate in the gite, here to relive happy memories of Their time here. Their house they had owned as a second home for 20 odd years, they sold to a young French family two years ago. But like us they remain lovers of the area, and it is a pleasure to welcome them here.
The young people over the road now have two children and they have checked with me today that we can cope with an invasion of children in what they term " le parc" Their friends all have little tots and they are having a coffee morning with the children coming to play on the swings and slides and run around kicking balls in the grounds. Sounds " grand" the grounds which are basically a mown field, but that field has had children playing in it all year, watched over by envious donkeys, for whom the grass is always greener on the other side.
Enjoy your sunny day readers.
