The station at Lexos

Just one of the great pictures on a site on facebook  Varen: un village en images taken by local photographer Gareth Brown. Such a fabulous building this huge station seems so out of place now at Lexos. It was a station at its height in 1860 to 1880, today perhaps 4 trains pass through and stop to pick up the odd passenger. There is no station master now, although there was when we arrived 13 years ago and the platforms are often deserted. We now use the station at Laguepie and Vindrac more.
