Dog breeders

Dear Val ,
I read with sadness the list of dogs seeking homes.
I also read with a certain amount of anger the accusations or insinuations of irresponsibility directed at breeders which appear on your blog from time to time. e.g. “ and don’t get me started  on breeders”. I have been a registered breeder of Dalmatians in France since 1988. I have produced only  nine litters and  every single puppy went to a home  at the age of 9-10 weeks which had been carefully  vetted by me . They are correctly vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed and socialised. I follow their evolution and if there is any problem I am the first to be told.  I undertake to rehome any dog  bred by me if necessary.  In addition,  because white coated dogs have a tendency to deafness, all my puppies are hearing  tested by a specialist vet. They are all  much loved companions but several have also become International Champions, two are Champions de France and one  is a successful truffle hunter!  I am not an exception & I only tell  you this to demonstrate that breeders are by no means all bad.
The baddies are those who allow their dogs to wander and reproduce at liberty and who do not make provision in the case of illness, divorce or death. Just look at the histories behind those dogs you are advertising.....
Yours doggedly

Val says I do like the " doggedly" Sally
If only everyone was such a responsible breeder Sally, sadly they are not. Even in our sector we have a puppy farm, which I if I got started on puppy farms I would really rant.  I think the quote given Sally was by a reader and not myself.
