Manuel Valls yesterday was in Marseille " du quartier de la Castellane" I saw in the news that he was going to Marseille and thought that could be dangerous. Now I discover that before the cavacade arrived, shots were heard in the area. Within minutes the whole area was placed on shut down as searches took place. Marksmen were out on the roofs of buildings and residents were told to stay in their houses. Manuel Valls stated this was just not acceptable and the response so quickly by the specialist gendarmes putting into place security for schools and sensitive places was to be commended.
We have some French friends who have moved from Marseille to Laguepie. They have a small child and they did not think life in that city with so much gun crime was a safe place to bring up the child.
