Just getting old or a dog psychologist needed?

What are her symptoms the vet asked giving Bonny a pat? Well we  said "she is just too well behaved, walks quietly beside us without a lead, she has done nothing naughty for weeks!" He regarded us strangely and asked if we wanted yet another blood test which we did.
The test proved normal as did all the other vital signs tested.
Bonny has just not been herself for 4 months since Twister died, she has had two bouts of piroplasmosis and has just suffered the visit of an  adorable puppy Max but we can see Bonny is glum.
We have some vitamin tablets for her and hope this bit of a tonic will get her back to herself.
Another huge vet's bill to discover perhaps it is all in her mind!! or ours.

Dear Val,
I have just read your last comment on Bonny and how she is not 'herself' since Twister died. Was Twister another dog? Friends of ours had two dogs and one sadly died, the other grieved for months
and the owners were very worried. In the end they took their remaining dog to the local RSPCA to choose itself another friend, they just let their dog walk up and down the kennels by herself and she kept going back to one particular dog. They repeated it again the following week and went home with a new friend! could be cheaper than vets bills!
Anyway, I wish you luck with Bonny, it's horrible when your loved pet is feeling down.

Hi Val
She could be lonely, you may have to get her a companion

Anne, Carolyn and Chris all say she is grieving and Anne suggests trying homeopathic ignatia in 6 c potency.
Overall readers think we need to adopt another elderly dog.
