The controversial 75% tax on earnings over 1 million euros is to be scrapped from next month. One of President Hollande's flagship election policies has always caused problems with the high earners concerned, causing many to re-locate overseas. A change to the rules meant that the tax was in fact paid by the employers concerned - giving rise to fears that such employers would not be able to attract the right quality of staff; this was especially the fear of Ligue 1 football clubs.
Does it mean that the dreaded Depardieu will be coming back from Russian exile?
