Going to the gym, Starcke style

If you are in Montpellier (when the floods have dried up) have a look at "Le Nuage". In the main area of Port Marianne this new building combines that very French idea of  la cure the very British idea of a gym.
Completely designed by Philippe Starcke, the celebrated architect /designer, the building is strikingly clothed in inflatable panels giving it a very light feeling, but also an air of transparency. The various activities, exercise based, medical based, crèche, aquatic, are on different levels, with (since this is a commercial undertaking) shops and boutiques on the ground floor.
Starcke has designed everything, keeping it simple as is his philosophy. "Nothing is hidden, there is no dissimulation" he says. Opening today (1st October) "Le Nuage" looks like adding a new landmark to the Montpellier landscape.
