When visiting her family in Normandy 24 year old Clemence Lapeyre decided to go for a moonlight trip on her paddle board (like a sailboard without a sail) without telling anyone what she was planning. But she lost control of the board as the weather deteriorated, fell off three times and lost her glasses and paddle. She drifted off to sea and spent 36 hours clinging to the board. A Belgian fishing boat spotted her almost 100 kilometres from where she set off. Lucky girl.
