When to cut lavender

Can any Tag readers tell me when it is the best time to cut lavender if you
want to use the seeds for lavender bags etc. I know I have missed the boat
for this year but it would be useful to know for the future.

Val says does it depend on the variety of lavender, as I have some in the garden that flower early and some outside the main garden that are just finishing flowering now.( not enough to offer sadly)
Anyone any other ideas ?

I always do mine round middle of August.  The bees are thoroughly enjoying the flowers at the moment.  No idea what strain it is, they came from Italy !
