Worth a mention

I hate eating out in large groups which tend to raise the noise levels, or even in being in restaurants where there are big groups, as service suffers. We had toyed with the idea of going to the Gazpacho on Friday lunchtime but on the grapevine we hear  the "Varen eating and drinking club" and a Ladies group are all booked in. Hope they have a nice lunch but we may chose  another venue!!!
Val says  And this email from John Taylor explains why we might stay away !

Before you decide not to eat at the Gazpacho, as Chief Dinner Monitor for
the'Varen Dining Club', I would like to point out that we ALWAYS return to
apologise and pay for damages, and that none of us has actually been
CONVICTED
of affray!Indeed we have nothing but praise for the way the Gendarmes handle
these situations.
The bad language has always been attributable to mis-translation, and the
singing ,whilst occasionally off-key, is no more than a cultural exchange
in
this stronghold of French Rugby.
Like yourselves, we are great supporters of charity, our particular cause
being
the Foundation for Un-dicipline Neo-Geriatrics
Please give generously!
PS The pole dancing incident was dismissed, it was two Poles dancing!
