Newcomers Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bonhave joined Helen Mirren in culinary drama “The Hundred-Foot Journey”, according to The Wrap.
Lasse Hallstrom is directing the film based on the bestselling book by Richard Morais, with Steven Spielberg and Oprah on board as producers. The story follows an Indian family who moves to a small French village in the alps and stirs up the sleepy town by opening an inexpensive Indian restaurant. Unfortunately they chose a spot right across the street from Mirren’s character’s Michelin-starred high end restaurant, and a culinary war ensues. Dayal plays Hassan Haji, the young man at the center of the story, while Le Bon will play his love interest. Filming is slated for September, with an August 8, 2014 release date already set.
