Neighbours, you have got to love them.

We have been so lucky with the young French neighbours and their friends over the road.
They are helping us with our French and yes even Malc has things to learn.
Yesterday we received a sack full of bio vegetables, crowned by a  whole load of rhubarb which I adore.
They are a very intelligent bunch who appear to have opted out from office and social work and most of them opting for a lifestyle of growing herbs and vegetables aided and supported by the Agricultural college at Monteils where many of them were  previously students. The college came to them with more students in the summer to give the odd seminar " en place"
Johan is a woodcutter and in the summer wooden house builder and Luc is making artisanal beer.
We mentioned that we needed someone to house sit all the pets at Christmas  and the offers rolled in from numerous couples. Julia and Johan owners of the two  male donkey have been chosen, at least if the donkeys escape on a festive jaunt someone will be there to bring them back. They are planning a big family Christmas Alsace style.
As far as we can see with the new neighbours  and their local  friends, it is a win win situation.
It would be great if Father Christmas came and used the donkeys instead of reindeer, they would love that and Filou the ugly chap could be made lead donkey raising his confidence and esteem after spending a year being called " an ugly chap"
