Cold case solved

Gendarmes in Marne department are pleased to have closed a "cold case" after 38 years. Probably no great efforts were made to find the blue Peugeot 104 reported stolen in 1978, but when the drought revealed a car submerged in a farmer's pond it caused a police investigation.
Having determined that there were no occupants in the vehicle, it was pulled from the pond, covered in slime and mud and thanks to its immatriculation its last owner was traced, still living in the area.
Gendarmes expect to return the car to its owner in the next few days, though could give no guarantee that it will start.
