Jean Marie Nosal and Bamako

Just had a visit from Jean Marie, always a pleasure to see this charming man. The first thing I asked  "I hope Winnie has hidden your passport"  He laughed and said she probably had. Jean Marie Nosal is not long back from a two week trip to Bamako where he has been arranging for the building of the new school to go ahead. He realises for the time being he will have to rely on staff in Mali. A Frenchman going to Bamako would be at great risk at the moment. He often had used the bar and restaurant in which the recent shootings had targeted Europeans. The bar was just a minute from where he normally stays.
To happier conversations where leaflets in English have been printed to distribute to friends and supporters of Via Sahel. Malc had done the translation and was happy with the way the leaflet now looks.
We often have talks about how we can put the world to rights and end up knowing that we can only do our little bit. The education of young African children after they have been fed has got to be important and that is why in the capital of Mali,  Bamako, schools are needed. A lot of money has been raised already so the work can get underway  but another 20,000 needed. Jean Marie is not daunted and is sure with everyone helping it can be achieved.
The couple will be supporting us in our efforts for their charity at our next Opera evening. We have I think  4 seats left,
