Gardening book sale
When friend and fellow Fifi member, Gill, contacted me to say that a large selection of gardening books (in English) were donated to le Croix Rouge where she works, I was really excited by her idea of a charity book sale to raise funds I was even more excited when I saw them: over 100 books, great quality, plants person books. They include familiar and less familiar publications, and cover plants from all over the world, with an emphasis on suitability for this climate. The collection was obviously put together by someone with a real knowledge of gardening and this is a great opportunity for English speakers in this area to pick up some very useful publications. The books are available for a small donation all proceeds to the Croix Rouge.
Plant  Swap
We thought we’d combine the book sale with an autumn plant swap. While spring has been the traditional time for the Fifi/TAG plant swaps, an autumn one is useful too, as it’s such a great time for planting. If you have any seeds, cuttings or plants to contribute, bring them along to swap with other keen gardeners (though no contribution is necessary). We’ve had all sorts of things in the past, from heritage tomatoes to Oleander shrubs, you never know what you’ll find!
Alpines & Perennials
A selection of alpines and perennials will also be for sale from our nursery, Le Jardin des Espiemonts.
