I thought I would drop you a line following your story about changing the chip if you adopt a dog in France but also remind anyone bringing their English chipped dog to France to register it on the central register. English chips will not appear on the French register so they need to get it put on. It doesn't cost very much and could make the difference if your dog gets lost.

Val says I wonder then if you take a French chipped dog on holiday to the UK if you need to register it on a register there, bearing in mind it is not an obligation to have a dog chipped in the UK.( it is at the moment a government suggestion, so Malc tells me)
I suppose we need also to consider holidaying in Spain. Anyone know about this?
