Well photographed kestrels are TAG stars

Our baby kestrels are delighting TAG readers with a stream of photographers coming and taking some super pictures. We have decided to make a photo box of their lives so far, but it might take  few days, and will be in a separate file for those who are fed up of these little birds.
The  " young adult" birds are stretching their wings, well certainly the one at the front of the line is and it is funny to see a little wing appearing out of the hole and being stretched and shaken, practicing ready for flight. We have been made aware of how the little birds react to the alarm call of parents over the last couple of days. What causes alarm, our cats sitting directly below the niche in the wall. Yesterday we heard the mad shrieking and the mother bird came swooping down on outside cat "Nipolena". It certainly made her run, but the babies instead of being on the edge of the hole huddled together right at the back. This happened again this morning and the shrieking from a parent produced the same result, indicating that the little ones understood the cry of alarm. Everyone who sees the babies poohing outside the hole has the same wonderment as we had, so clever to know that smelly stuff is better outside the nest.
We had a group of French friends here yesterday for a "Bastille Day lunch" and one of the ladies was appalled at the fact the outside wall was covered in pooh. I explained it would wash off over winter, but she did not seem convinced.
