Artist impressions of our gite from 2005

We fell in love even before we knew it was for  sale.
Living at the bottom of the road up to Mas del Sol, we often walked past admiring the position and the views this tumbled down house had.
In its favour apart from the views was a solid roof.
The ivy growing up the side of the house was a nightmare to dislodge before reconstruction work started.
As we lived at the time just down the road we spent many an hour coming up for picnics to enjoy the views as artisans worked on the building.
At that time the house which had been part of a farm complex had a neighbour across the courtyard. Quite soon after buying this building we also bought the house of the neighbour where we now live, completing the ensemble, two houses, dependance, grange and pigeonnier.
We have loved our country life here so much, to say it is a paradise does not overstate it. Bird life, flowers, the orchids along the road and our field, the views. Twice we have considered leaving recently but just could not do it. Now with Malc’s illness we know it is time.
We shall sell the complex and know someone else will love it all as much as we have.
With the gite and swimming pool so well placed placed there is the possibility of a good income as we have had for many years.
For us a change of life, probably in a village but certainly staying here in France.
New adventures will be waiting for us as Malc improves.
The artist is of course Tudor Powell, our brother in law who has enjoyed many a holiday here.
