Naming the new region

The fusion of the two regions Languedoc Roussillon and Midi Pyrenees has begun, but no name has been decided yet. A public consultation has been taking place mainly via the internet, but also in the regional press. Giving your vote was not easy via internet. First you register on a regional web site, then you confirm your email address, giving a telephone number; then you receive a code by SMS; then you can give your choice, listing your preferences from 1 to 5 among the options given.
The options include Languedoc, Languedoc Pyrenees, Pyrenees Mediterranée, Occitanie and Occitanie-Pays Catalan.
Then having gone through the consultation, the regional assembly will choose their preference "guided by the vote". Finally the Minister responsible for the regions will give agreement - or not - to the choice.
Taglines' editors have persevered with the process, choosing "Languedoc Pyrenees"; it will now be interesting to await the outcome.
