France wins battle over Waterloo

2015 marks the bi-centenary of Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo by British and Prussian troops. The site of the battle is in Belgium and the government there decided to issue a 2 euro coin in commemoration. Britain has issued a £5 coin featuring the Duke of Wellington and Marshall Blucher, but France thought that as the euro is a common currency to several countries it was wrong to use a symbol which could offend a significant part of the population.
Belgium, which feels that Europe has more important things to deal with, has scrapped 180000 coins intended to sell as commemorative collectors' issues at 8 euros.
Val says  I have to wonder if someone sneaked a few away which will turn up in the collectors market in a few years and be worth a fortune for their rarity value. What do you think?
