Najac or a nuclear power station?

When we came 12 years ago, we really had not researched the area as we should. We met Agence L'Union at a show at Olympia in London, saw an old presbytere they had for sale and arranged a visit to come and look around. It was that old presbytere at St. Vincent de Varen which lured us out here, we saw it and fell in love.

When we came we were still working as international rare booksellers, often doing bookfairs at Olympia and in the USA, and selling books through catalogues we produced.
We bought the Presbytere and came out with trepidation, not even being sure what was up the road and round the corner, it could have been a nuclear power station for all we knew!
Well as it worked out up the road and round the corner was " magical Najac"

We used to work in the office all week when we arrived  (we altered the garage to be a workroom) but when the sun was shining, we would jump in to the Mercedes convertible which was new and swanky then and drove to Najac for an ice cream. They were lovely moments and I will always remember those rides out playing   "hooky"  from work, driving round the winding beautiful country roads to Najac.
If Najac needs us, as a reader has suggested, let us have reasons why we all love Najac. You must have a story?
